Last week not only did I acquire the lovely little Christmas tree decoration pattern that I posted about last time but I also got the kit for this little sweetie. I actually got the kit because I quite liked the colours, and... because the Japanese taupe fabrics supplied were something I had never worked with before. Years ago I had some Japanese fabric but it was coarse and thick. This is different it's soft and smooth and oh so easy to sew by hand. Yep, I definitely want more of this fabric, but wait, there's more! In the kit was a skein of stranded thread - not just any old stranded thread - oh no, this was Cosmo stranded thread. Now, why hasn't any of my friends told me about the joy of sewing with this thread? It's just lovely, so smooth and silky - Uh huh, I think this is love, I want more!
Now to try and find where I can buy it from.
Have a fab weekend everyone
hugs
Japanese fabrics are a big hit in this area too. Their natural tones combined with the textures are great together.

OMG have you not been listening to me when I speak or email you. Cosmos threads-duh. I have just bought the Cosmos Seasons range, they are all variegated thread which we used at Rosie and Leannes workshop. I got the variegated from Crapabble Hill and Under the Mulberry Tree in Aussie. Now you can purchase the regular colours from the Sawmillars in Wellington or why not try Patchwork Passion where we got the kits from............. Now I know you haven't been listening to me (sigh) lol
ReplyDeleteOh Miche'le you'll never go back now that you've tried Cosmo, aren't they great! Now I see from Deb's comment that you can get them in NZ. Yippee! Your little cushion is darling, gorgeous fabrics.
ReplyDeleteIt is just absolutely beautiful. I love the colors too.
