Flower Power, thanks for the memories.

OMG you just wont believe what we found in our laundry room today.  I'll set the scene, just a few years ago we moved into this house that was built in the 70's.  Everything about it yells 70's and we are slowly bringing things up to date, one project a year.  Well it is now time for a laundry upgrade so DH is gradually removing old cupboards and relining walls.  He asked me to give him a hand shifting one of the cupboards, no problem I said but once in the room I just had to race back and get my camera.  Now have a look at these:retro 2

retro3retro 1Modern fabrics, in the stores now.  Yep, they are calling them retro prints and they are selling like hot cakes.  It maybe a sign of my age but I truly remember prints like these from when I was a teenager - but we wont go there.  Now back to the prints, can you imagine my surprise when behind the for mentioned cupboard was this print002.  Fancy that, I have a retro laundry.  Sorry if this sounds totally boring to you  but I just couldn't help myself, here we are trying to update our house only to find that underneath001  the current layer is something much more trendy than either of us would be prepared to decorate with.

Have a lovely day

  1. It's a bit like a horror film! Still if you did like that you could keep it and make it a feature!

  2. What a fun find! I remember those prints way back when, and I have noticed all the pretty printed dresses that are about are similar to what I wore in the early 60'!

  3. Yep I remember sheets in a blue version of that wallpaper. LOL You aren't going to believe this but I think there is the same or similar pattern of paper in the back of the built in cupboard here! Must take a pic for you.
