My First Finish For The New Year

I’m a huge fan of applique and piecing combined and when you add ‘scrap’ to that combination, well… perfection.  So When Kim Diehl books started appearing in our shops a few years ago I made sure that I collected them all.  Collecting the books and getting the fabrics for each project has been a lot quicker that completing each004 individual project.  This one I’ve called “Not the real Diehl” as I have done ‘my thingy’ to it.  Kim's designs are just sooo lovely, and already I have the next one calling me to start it.
003The quilting of this is not my best work, for some reason I just couldn’t get it right and spent almost as much time unpicking as I did sewing,  but it’s finished and where is OPAM when I need it?  LOL
On to the next UFO,

    Your quilt is beautiful! I really like Kim Diehl also projects but has never done one and never even have bought her books. Here in Brazil is more difficult to find, so I'm just happy to see on her blog.
    Sorry my english, I'm using a translator online.

    I love Kim Diehl's designs also. your colors are reall nice. Hope you get more of them done. Chris ps I have several of her older patterns that were in quilting magazines I hope to get to

    Oh wow, that is beautiful Miche'le. I love the colours you have chosen and am very impressed that you have finished a quilt in 2011 already!!

    I am a fan of Kim Diehl too....so many great designers out there, so little time!
