Sighing with relief

imagesCA6HWHIX
Yep, this is a happy dance, not only because it's just 3 more sleeps until 'the man' comes home but because over two weeks ago I posted my Tiny Treasures 2 exchange pin cushion off to Theresa from giraffexing  in the States.
Well, since then I had ordered and received those orders from the States and yet this little treasure hadn't arrived.  I can tell you I was really getting worried.  Today, the lovely Theresa has e-mailed me to say that it had finished it's extended journey and she loves it, so now I can share with you what I sent.029
Theresa just loves giraffes, so for me there was no other choice but to find something  'giraffy' for her.  After digging in my limited (wink) stash I was also able to find giraffy fabric for the borders and back, plus a few beads, after all every gal has to have a bit of bling! Then the next challenge was suitable cording - huh, easier said than done 030 so it was a case of digging through my school teacher stash to find some dye.  All in all I'm pretty happy with the outcome and am absolutely thrilled that Theresa likes it.
Well, there are a few other bits and bobs to share with you, but I'll save those for my next post.

A Parcel All The Way From Italy

The postie arrived today with a parcel for me all the way from Armonde in Italy.  Inside the envelope007 was another parcel and a delightful scissor case, this picture shows the backside of it,008 and this on shows the front, complete with a tiny beaded safety pin for closure.  But wait, there’s more.  Inside the other package was yet another scissor case.  How spoilt am I?  Armonde said her first one was not what she wanted so… she made 011 another.  This time in cross stitch using varigated thread and she 010 even included the sweetest little pair of pink scissors too.  Thank-you so much Armonde I will treasure  these gifts sent to me from the other side of the world.

A Secret Squirrel Project Revealed

Recently I signed up with Nita at Tiny Treasures Exchange, Too, for her scissor case swap.  015 Now that Lori in the US has received her parcel from me I can share it with you009 (2).                                               I worked on evenweave linen using two threads and in the middle of each nasturtium flower (which is what they are supposed to be) I sewed seed beads for a bit of bling.  The reverse shows Lori’s initials.
Having never taken part in an exchange before, I really wanted something that wasn’t too onerous for my first.  After all I didn’t want to ‘stuff it up’ in any way and let my partner down. Making a scissor pocket/case fit just perfectly.  I hope Lori likes the colours and thankyou to Nita for organising the exchange.
