This year I'm going to try and be good, as a self confessed chocoholic, I'm going to go through the season without a single bit of chocolate in the house! And... on the first of December it's going to be a weigh in day, a month later I'll do the same and see if for once the season doesn't leave a few kilos my way - well, I can dream, lol.
The quilt on the back of the sofa is a design from Kim Deihl, I think that's how you spell it. It's a dear wee block and a lovely applique pattern too. I increased it's size somewhat and added gold beads to the pomegranites (I think that's how it's spelt), just for a bit of extra 'bling'. I hope Kim doesn't mind me playing around with her pattern, but I think most of us do that every now and then. I hope all of you are starting to get the festive feeling. Being from a country that doesn't have Thanksgiving I can't begin to imagine how much work must be involved with festivities for both events so close to each other - those American women must be super women!
Although we live in a climate that is usually very warm in December, not that you would know it at the moment, we still do the traditional thing of a full roast turkey etc, mad I know but hey tradition is tradition and it wouldn't feel the same any other way for our family. Planning starts well before December so I'd hate to think how much planning goes into Thanksgiving followed so closely by Christmas.
