Busy, busy, busy

Goodness me, it’s been ages since I last wrote a post and I haven’t been sitting around doing nothing, of course not I’m an addict, needle and thread have been whizzing through my fingers.  But before I get to that I want to share with you a couple of lovely gifts I received001 from my dear friend,  Linda (as a fellow addict she knows exactly what I like. On the first night of her visit she plopped a very large, slightly heavy package on my lap.  Inside was this gorgeous paper mache box complete with a very ornate metal class, but wait! there’s more… 002 another, slightly smaller box was inside that, and then… once opened this treasure box revealed a heavy cast iron dragonfly wall hook.  How lucky am I?003 As I havea few plans for ‘doing up’ my  little sewing room, I am going to stash these until all the new stuff is in place and then I can have fun decorating with these goodies – thank you my friend, you’re the best.

Linda, her husband and adult son stayed a couple of nights and as you do we bounced ideas of each other until well past a respectable bed time, then continued on through all the following day.  The ‘boys’ must have been well and truly over our enthusiasm and took off  to find their fortune gold panning,  the fact that we have had the worst rain in 14 years didn’t deter them. Eventually the boys returned home complete with some very small nuggets and even smaller flakes, but the brightest things were the smiles on their faces.

I have been quietly stitching away, and with four exchanges to complete plus guild birthday blocks there hasn’t been any stay at home stuff done.  Here’s a sneak peek at just a few goodies.  Now I have to get cracking on a couple of other swaps.  Once they are all able to be exposed I’ll show them in full.004007 015005 For now, well the visitors are gone and I have a 25% off sale in the shop for the weekend so I had better catch up on chores that have been left undone for a few days and then get this little shop of mine all prim and proper for tomorrow.

I hope your week has been so enjoyable,

hugs to all
